Secondary 1-2 Elementary Mathematics
Subject Taught: Elementary Mathematics
Levels: Secondary 1 to 2 (two separate levels)
Duration of Lessons: 4 lessons per month, 1.5 hours per lesson
Programme Synopsis:
Our Elementary Mathematics tuition aligns with the MOE syllabus and is intricately crafted with a focus on examinations. Extensive research has been undertaken on examination papers from diverse schools, examining the problem-solving techniques essential for excelling in the subject. Our programme is not solely centred on examinations; it also cultivates an inspiration for students to approach challenging mathematical problems from different perspectives.
Classes are highly interactive, with the teacher engaging students in discussions throughout each session. Students will utilise specially printed worksheets containing notes and questions of varying difficulty levels as learning aids. The teacher will meticulously guide students through each topic, providing detailed explanations. The whiteboard will serve as a medium to illustrate concepts, methodologies, and convey ideas.
Active class participation by students is crucial to ensuring they keep pace with the material being taught. The student's classwork will be closely monitored, and homework assignments will be given in moderation to prepare them for subsequent lessons. As examinations approach, the teacher will conduct a period of 'drilling,' working through mock examination papers in class under examination conditions. This aims to critically assess the students' understanding before they face the actual examination in school.
