Our Secondary English Language tuition is based on the MOE syllabus and is specially structured with an examination focus. We have researched on examination papers of various schools, structuring our teaching curriculum into one that is not only examination-focused, but also one that inspires students to think critically and help them in their study techniques. The programme comprises of the following components:
- Grammar
- Vocabulary
- Editing skills
- Comprehension Skills
- Summary Writing Skills
- Essay Writing Techniques
- Letter/Report Writing
- Oral Skills
Lessons are conducted in an interactive learning environment whereby the teacher will actively engage students in discussions every lesson. Students will be using specially printed worksheets with note/questions of varying degrees of difficulty as learning aids. The teacher will guide students through each topic with detailed explanations and the whiteboard will be used as a medium to illustrate concepts and convey ideas. Class participation by students is essential in ensuring students keep in pace with what is being taught. The student's classwork will be monitored closely and homework assignments will be given to students in moderation to be prepared for subsequent lessons. Nearing the examination, the teacher will go through a period of 'drilling' whereby mock examination papers will be worked through in class with students under examination conditions.
