TERMS & CONDITIONS
COMPOSITION EDITING PROGRAMME
1. The Composition Editing Programme (hereinafter known as the “Programme”) is an online programme provided by Kingsdale Education (hereinafter known as “Company”). The parent enrolling his/her child for the programme will be deemed as the registrant for the programme.
2. The following are the requirements for word count:
(a) P1 & 2 - 80 to 200 words maximum
(b) P3 & 4 – 120 to 300 words maximum
(c) P5 & 6 – 150 to 400 words maximum
The word limit is necessary to prevent students from overwriting.
3. The fees for the programme is as follows:
I. Primary 1 & 2 Package - $60 (maximum 8 compositions)
II. Primary 3 & 4 Package - $72 (maximum 8 compositions)
III. Primary 5 & 6 Package - $88 (maximum 8 compositions)
IV. Single composition (Primary 1 & 2) - $8 per composition
V. Single composition (Primary 3 & 4) - $10 per composition
VI. Single composition (Primary 5 & 6) - $12 per composition
4. All payment made is not refundable and any fees paid for this programme cannot be transferred to other programmes conducted by the Company.
5. The edited composition is final and no composition will be re-edited unless the Company sees the need to do so.
6. After registering for our package programmes by filling in our online form, the 4-week cycle will start on the day when payment is received. For example, if payment is received on 15 January 2015, the programme will run till 15 February 2015. For single composition editing, the composition is to be submitted to the Company within a week of payment.
7. For parents/students wishing to make payment for the programme in cash, they can Email us at [email protected] to make that request or send us a text message to 91003173 or 94527713 to make an arrangement for cash payment at any of our centres.
8. For each of the 4 weeks, a maximum of 2 compositions is to be submitted. The Company will take a maximum of 1 week to Email back each of the edited scripts. If less than 8 compositions are submitted to the Company at the end of the 4-week cycle, the remaining compositions cannot be carried over to the following month.
9. The registrants are to submit their child's work in either a digitally editable format (e.g. MS Word or a typed Email to [email protected]) or handwritten format. The handwritten script could either be sent to the Company via Whatsapp (91003173 or 94527713) as an image document, or scanned and Emailed to [email protected]. The Company reserves the right to request for any handwritten script to be submitted in a digitally editable format for any of the following reasons:
a) Poor image quality;
b) Illegible or poor handwriting;
c) Lack of proper spacing between words;
d) No proper paragraphing; or
e) Any other reason that makes reading the handwritten script difficult.
Editing a written script takes time and if the editor finds it difficult to read the script, it will make the job of editing difficult.
10. The Company reserves all rights to all edited scripts including copyright, publishing/ distribution rights, and only the course registrant and his/her child are to access them. Circulating, distributing or letting anyone else have access to the edited scripts without the express written consent of the Company would constitute an infringement of the law and the Company would be entitled to seek legal redress against the registrant and to recover damages and be fully indemnified for all legal cost in the enforcement of the Company's rights. Where there is an infringement, the registrant is deemed to have full knowledge of it and will not be exonerated by any excuse or reasoning.
